We reviewed 293 eyes in 213 cases of pseudoexfoliation syndrome regarding the gonioscopic features and types of glaucoma. The chamber angle was closed in 34 eyes (11.6%) and open in 259 eyes (88.4%) of which the chamber angle was wide in 237 eyes (80.9%) and narrow in 22 eyes (7.5%). Open-angle glaucoma was present in 111 eyes (37.9%) and closed-angle glaucoma in 34 eyes (11.6%). The latter included 13 eyes of combined-mechanism glaucoma. The findings show that pseudoexfoliation glaucoma consists of both open-angle and closed-angle glaucoma including combined-mechanism glaucoma in about one-third in the latter.
