The authors reviewed 105 eyes of 70 patients with glaucoma secondary to uveitis, who were followed up for three to 186 months, average 44 months. Control of intraocular pressure below 20 mmHg without carbonic anhydrase inhibitor was achieved in 44 of 47 eyes (94%) with open angle glaucoma, in 35 of 39 eyes (90%) with peripheral anterior synechiae (PAS) involving less than two quadrants, in four of six eyes (67%) with PAS involving more than two quadrants, and in four of four eyes (100%) with transient narrow angle at the onset. Intraocular pressure was finally controlled in 96 of 105 eyes (91%), including two eyes with iris gibbera and seven eyes operated on for cataract. Visual field defects progressed in 20 of 39 eyes (51%) after the follow-up of four to 181 months, average 43 months.
