It is highly recommended to attend the Opening Session on Wednesday July 8 of the World Glaucoma Congress. You will hear information about the WGA activities, the WGC and Boston from knowledgeable officials. You will witness the recognition of the colleagues who have given their time and creativity to further the association. The best glaucoma publications of 2008 are honoured during the WGA-Award Ceremony (see page 8). Papers that had a long-term impact on the management of glaucoma will be honoured with the 'Classic' WGA-Award.
Highlights of the Opening Session will be the lectures of the two
Keynote Speakers:
Dr. Robert Langer from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a
world-renowned expert in drug delivery, will deliver the scientific keynote
address. Professor Robert Merton, a Nobel-prize winning Economist
from Harvard University will deliver the general keynote address. Both lectures
from top-scientists will be unique and unforgettable. The Opening
Session will be followed by the Welcome Reception.
