the best and most attended international glaucoma congress ever.
First, there will be 23 national and regional Glaucoma Societies who
will have their satellite meetings on Wednesday morning, July 8th
, 2009. Such an overwhelming participation of so many societies in response
to our call is unprecedented and very encouraging. It is a solid proof that
WGC has become the real 'home' for glaucoma specialists from all over the
globe. The scientific program will be of the highest quality, addressing
all issues our field confronts these days. The program will include:
- Didactic sessions on key important issues in glaucoma, with talks
given by excellent invited speakers from all over the world.
- Free papers sessions, and free papers incorporated into didactic
sessions on merit of their quality. Our scientific committee has chosen
the best 30 submitted abstracts from a total of 705 submitted, and these
will be presented by their authors in their appropriate sessions.
- Grand Rounds - the most interesting 5 cases have been chosen to
be presented by their authors, with a thorough discussion of each case
by a panel of experts representing various approaches from different
parts of the world.
- Around 40 courses (free of charge) run by our faculty, covering
all clinical and practical issues we all face in our daily confrontation
with glaucoma.
- Surgical Video sessions, with vivid discussion of techniques, indications
and novel methodologies.
- The first film festival that composes of a collection of 10 outstanding
videos will be shown three times during the congress.
- All sessions will be in accordance with the quality levels of the
CME providing organization
- An especially large Poster Session, representing an overwhelming
number of abstracts (705 in total), submitted from 64 countries. This
is double the numbers that have been submitted for the previous World
Glaucoma Congresses. It is fantastic that the whole world has responded
enthusiastically to the call for this 3rd World Glaucoma
Congress.
We all look forward to having you at the WGC in Boston, July 8-11, 2009.
