OBJECTIVE: To find the differences of optic disc character in normal subjects, physiological large cups and angle-closure glaucoma. METHODS: The parameters of optic nerve head from 100 normal control subjects (200 eyes), 30 persons with physiological large cups (60 eyes) and 30 patients with angle-closure glaucoma (60 eyes) were measured using HRT-II. RESULTS: Mean retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) thickness between normal control subjects and physiological large cups did not differ significantly. Mean RNFL thickness between angle-closure glaucoma and two other groups had a distinct difference. CONCLUSION: The HRT-II system can distinguish glaucoma from normal and physiological large cups eyes during a follow-up period.LA: Chinese
